The Springboro Rotary Club supports young people in many ways.
Dictionary Project – Annually we purchase and distribute dictionaries for both Springboro and Waynesville third graders.File Oct 02, 1 26 24 PM This is a way for all students to have a reference tool they can use throughout their school years; and a way for our club to support learning for all students.
Safety Town – In 2015 Springboro Rotary sponsored the initiation of Safety Town in collaboration with Clearcreek Township and Springboro Police Departments. This is a national program taught locally to 6-8 year olds about Pedestrian Safety, Crosswalks, Traffic Signals, Electronic Child Fingerprinting, Using 911, School Bus Safety, Fire Safety, and other Hands-on Activities.
Youth Scholarship Program – A scholarship is awarded to a Springboro High School student annually. Seniors can apply to our club through a written application and interview process.
Springboro Rotary Interact Club – is a club for young people who want to join together to tackle the issues in their community that they care most about. Students can join the Springboro Interact club at the high school, and can depend on being able to carry out hands-on service projects, develop leadership skills, and have fun! You can learn more at their website here: Springboro Interact Club.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership development program run by Rotary. Our local District 6670 runs an event every spring which includes high school age young adults who have been nominated by their local Rotary clubs. This event is held over a weekend from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The event includes presentations, activities, and workshops that cover a variety of topics, including:
- Leadership fundamentals and ethics
- Communication skills
- Problem solving and conflict management
- Community and global citizenship
YMCA – Springboro Rotary is a strong supporter of the Coffman YMCA, offering its support through the “Strong Kids Campaign” annually, and throughout the year through relationship building and participation in events.
